New online platform will offer producers exhaustive data on European and global film funds.
Producer Ilann Girard (March Of The Penguins), Joëlle Levie (former general director of the Bureau du Québec de Téléfilm) and software expert François Farrugia have revealed further details of OLFFI (Online Film Financing), their new online platform which will offer producers exhaustive data on European and global film funds.
The website, which has received support from The MEDIA Programme and Eurimages as well as from different film funds throughout Europe, has just launched its first module, OLFFI EXPLORE. This gives information on 125 funding bodies, 146 funding programmes and tax mechanisms, 200 coproduction treaties and more than 250 film commissions.
The web platform has an annual budget of around $400,000.
“It’s really a tool for producers to allow them to understand very quickly how the funding mechanism works,” Levie explained.
OLFFI will run on a subscription model eventually. It is currently free. The aim is to include data on all countries that have signed coproduction treaties with European countries.
