Film London Production Finance Market runs for seventh year on Oct 16-17, in association with the BFI London Film Festival.
Ahead of its seventh edition in October, the Film London Production Finance Market (PFM) has announced it has partnered with Filme Rio - Rio Film Commission in Brazil.
The new collaboration comes as Film London and Filme Rio reconfirmed their agreement at Cannes.
Adrian Wootton, chief executive of Film London and the British Film Commission, commented: “As the UK strengthens its relationship with Brazil we are delighted to be sustaining and amplifying our partnership with Rio. We are also delighted to confirm a new international partner on the PFM, further extending the Market’s reach to now include one of the key emerging markets.”
The new partnership will provide the PFM with a potential avenue for Rio based producers to attend the market via a filter selection process administered by Rio Filme, which will recommend up to five projects from the city or state.
“The new role of the Film Rio – Rio Film Commission as International Partner of the PFM offers a perfect means to expand and strengthen our existing relationship with Film London and is very timely in view of the expansion of the audiovisual sector in Brazil in general and in the city and state of Rio de Janeiro in particular,” added Steve Solot, president of the Filme Rio-Rio Film Commission.
Dedicated to connecting producers with financiers to encourage new global film financing relationships, the PFM also has links with Toronto International Film Festival’s International Financing Forum, Melbourne International Film Festival’s 37ºSouth Market, Rome International Film Festival’s New Cinema Network, Ile de France Film Commission and the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund.
Applications are now open for the seventh PFM, which takes place on Oct 16-17 in association with the BFI London Film Festival. Deadline for applications is July 5.
