Inception Media Group has acquired Alex Barder’s Strategic Film Partners through its newly formed subsidiary Inception Film Partners.
Barder founded Strategic in 2004 and becomes president of the new company. He will spearhead and manage all aspects of daily operations including business development, strategic planning, acquisitions, film financing and sales.
Inception Film Partners looks to acquire 15-20 films a year and will build upon Strategic Film Partners’ robust international reach with expanded infrastructure and investment in acquisitions and international co-productions.
The new venture will share synergies with its distribution parent Inception Media Group but will operate independently in North America.
“The acquisition of Strategic Film Partners further diversifies our company’s efforts and creates new revenue streams that will help drive growth,” said Inception Media Group co-founder David Borshell. “Alex brings with him years of diverse industry experience and the passion and leadership necessary to not only build a bigger and more robust film sales company but also to expand all aspects of our consolidated companies.”
“This is an exciting time for all of us at Inception Media Group,” said Inception Media Group co-founder Andy Reimer. “The breadth of product and services as well as the relationships we have with our content partners and customers will elevate and distinguish us in the marketplace.”
“I’m really excited about the opportunities the combined companies create,” said Barder. “The global marketplace is rapidly evolving, and I look forward to leveraging both the added resources, and more importantly, Inception’s intellectual capital to enable us to stay on the cutting edge for our clients and partners.
“Technology has enabled us to build a direct relationship with our audience. We embrace this revolution and, together with independent filmmakers, challenge ourselves to produce and distribute memorable commercial films that will last for generations.”
