Blind Spot Pictures and Tappeluft Pictures among those in Cannes with latest projects.
Nordic genre producers are joining forces here in Cannes. Six leading figures from the region have set up camp at the festival.
Producer Tero Kaukomaa from Blind Spot Pictures from Finland and Kjetil Omberg from Tappeluft Pictures from Norway are the leaders of the self-setyled “Nordic Genre Invasion”.
Their slates include a sequel to Moon Nazi cult movie Iron Sky [pictured], entitled Iron Sky The Coming Race, and submarine horror film Deadrise, sequel to Nazi Zombie actioner Dead Snow, directed by Tommy Wirkola (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters).
Other partners in the ‘Invasion’ are Fisher King Production from Finland, bringing supernatural TV-series and feature film Nymphs, and LittleBig Productions from Sweden, who’ll be touting happy horror comedy American Burger.
Iron Sky co-producer 27 Films Productions is joining the Nordic genre gang with a TV series based on the franchise called Iron Sky: Houston, We Have A Problem and an adaptation D.H. Lawrence novel The Fox, directed by Matthias Luthardt.
Also involved Finnish visual effects house Troll Vfx.
