Russia's Paradise opening US cinema

Paradise Film Group’s exhibition division Five Stars Cinemas is preparing to open its first site in the US in June.

The 10-screen luxury Five Stars multiplex will open in Glendale, Los Angeles, is scheduled to open on June 21 following an 18-month refurbishment.

“The core programming will be commercial but we can use one or two screens to introduce different types or programming,” said Paradise head of acquisitions and Five Stars head of programming and strategic development Dasha Sterlikova.

“There will be a restaurant and bar. It’s going to be like an entertainment complex in the same style as our nine sites in Russia. The idea is to expand and we are looking at the East Coast.”
