EXCLUSIVE: Tre Vänner (Snabba Cash/Easy Money) has joined forces with German powerhouse ZDF Enterprises.
The two companies have signed a multiyear development deal on TV projects.
It is envisaged that many of these projects will also spawn feature films.
The agreement will include the development of high-end TV dramas with key Scandinavian talent. ZDF Enterprises will handle international sales on the slate. The projects will be targeting Scandinavian, German and international audiences and are seen as a next step in the line of coproductions such as the Fjällbacka Murders series or the Sebastian Bergman TV films.
The projects will be set across different genres, targeting international partners and markets.
Producer Helena Danielsson is helping oversee feature film spin-offs at Tre Vänner.
The Hidden Child, the feature film thriller linked to The Fjällbacka Murders, is being sold in the market by TrustNordisk.
The €3m film stars veteran actor Jan Malmsjö (who played the priest in Fanny And Alexander), Norwegian actor Jakob Oftebro (Kon Tiki, Victoria) and Edvin Endre. Representatives of the film are expected in Cannes this weekend.
Jonas Fors [pictured], CEO of Tre Vänner, commented: ”we have been working closely with ZDF Enterprises over the years. ZDF Enterprises has been an important partner in developing the Scandinavian crime and making it an international success. The team at ZDF Enterprises has a unique sense of trends and knowledge of where the television industry is heading. Together we have the skills to create high quality TV productions for the viewers of tomorrow.”
“Tre Vänner’s outstanding reputation for developing projects that set new standards in its genres was very attractive to us,” stated Alexander Coridass, president and CEO of ZDF Enterprises.
