London-based former Woody Allen producer Gareth Wiley [pictured] (Match Point, Scoop) is in Cannes this week to launch Screen Advantage, the new online tool for financiers and producers.
Wiley is touting Screen Advantage as a “financing planning tool” that will enable even neophyte producers to organise and present their finance plans from the earliest stages.
“Ours is a mass market product aimed at producers both large and small, - independent producers, experienced producers - and financiers as well,” Wiley commented.
Wiley, a former investment banker, said the new tool will help producers who come from a creative rather than a business or financial background as well as experts. He claims that it is user friendly and inexpensive.
“At best, producers tend to find the process of organising and presenting their finance plans a chore. At worst, it is beyond their abilities or something they find a real struggle to do,” Wiley said.
Through Screen Advantage, Wiley claimed, these producers will be able to provide the financial information that investors want and need.
The new tool is available through subscription. Wiley said it will cost a odest £9.99 ($16.49) a month - and for that, users can manage and store as many films as they like. Screen Advantage is able to generate finance plans, ownership reports and recoupment waterfalls.
Screen Advantage will be launched officially at the UK Film Centre on Saturday morning.
