EXCLUSIVE: K5 International has closed a major French deal for Renée Zellweger’s directorial debut 4 ½ Minutes.
K5 has sold the film, set amid the New York stand-up comedy scene, to France’s Mars Film.
In a joint statement, K5 co-founders Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur said: “We are very happy to have found the best home for 4 ½ Minutes with Mars and to have put the film in the safe hands of Stephane Clerier and Stephanie Bermann.”
Wild Bunch already snapped up the German rights for spoof The Starving Games with Falcon taking the Middle East, but they are now joined by Lucky Red for Italy, Imagem for Latin America, CP Digital for Russia, Nu Metro for South Africa, Shoval for Israel, Cathay for Singapore and PT Amero Mitra for Indonesia.
K5 is understood to be signing a major deal in Spain, whilst SuperFast! continues to close across Poland, Turkey, India and Greece.
The company has also sold Tribeca buzz title Cutie and the Boxer from director Zachary Heinzerling to Madman for Australia and New Zealand.
