Resource for actors, agents and casting directors now available in UK

Casting Workbook, the US and Canadian database resource primarily aimed at actors, casting directors and agents, is launching in the UK.

The website will go live for the UK today [June 8].

Casting Workbook has been available in North America for seventeen years, with a contract with 20th Century Fox Casting. It has over 70,000 members and cast more than 20,000 roles for film/TV/commercials and print last year.  

The resource, priced at £99 (payable by actors only), allows actors to maintain online portfolios; casting directors to create and post breakdowns, schedule and upload audition sessions; and agents to organize, manage and submit talent for auditions.

At a presentation in London today the Workbook team demonstrated to a collection of industry professionals Smart Script, a new software tool that uses script analysis technology to analyze Final Draft PDF scripts and generate role lists, line and scene counts, and produce breakdowns and sides.
