Cathay Organisation has sold its Cathay Classics Films library to i-Cable Hong Kong for Hong Kong and Macau pay-TV and internet.
Separately, Cathay is issuing a DVD box set with musicals starring Grace Chan aka Ge Lan, one of the foremost actresses of her era - Wild Wild Rose, Mambo Girl and June Bride - in January 2009 when the stage remake of Wild Wild Rose will debut in Singapore.
Lifestyle chain G.O.D. is also producing a range of collectibles and apparel for the region.
Meanwhile Cathay continues to grow its cineplex chain with Emaar Malls Group Dubai across the Middle East, North Africa, India and Indonesia.
The first of the Cathay-Emaar cineplexes will open this April with 22 screens in the Dubai Mall which opened three days ago (Nov 4). Six more premiere-class screens will open in the Dubai Marina Mall and three upcoming locations have been identified in Cairo.
