Fred Cavaye to direct $14m action thriller Point Blank for Gaumont.

Fred Cavaye, who wrote and directed French thriller Pour Elle which has now been remade in English as The Next Three Days, will next direct the $14m action thriller Point Blank which Gaumont is selling in Berlin.

Starring Gilles Lelouch, Roschdy Zem, Gerard Lanvin and Elena Anaya, the film is a race against time story about a male nurse who needs to orchestrate the escape of a murderer in order to keep his kidnapped wife alive.

The picture, currently shooting in Paris, is due for delivery by the end of the year. It is produced by LGM and Gaumont, which will release in France as well as handle sales.
