Hong Kong-based Celestial Pictures has appointed Annie Yim as director of distribution for the Greater China region.
Yim will oversee distribution of the Celestial-owned Shaw Brothers film library, as well as new Celestial-produced content, across multiple platforms in the Greater China region.
Reporting to Celestial Pictures CEO Ross Pollack, she will work closely with distribution director Gigi Ko, who manages Celestial’s distribution business outside the Greater China region.
Yim is joining Celestial after a long career with Sony Pictures Television (SPT). In 2007, she moved from Hong Kong to Beijing to head up all of SPT’s licensing and distribution efforts in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. In 2010, she relocated back to Hong Kong to oversee SPT’s distribution business in Southeast Asia, remaining in the position until this year.
Meanwhile Celestial’s senior vice president, distribution, Peter Poon, is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities. Ross Pollack said: “We are grateful for Peter’s contributions during his tenure with Celestial and wish him well in his future endeavors.”
