Revenues from cinema advertising in the UK rose9.3% year-on-year for the first six months of the year.
The Nielsen Media Research figures show that therewas a big spike - 34% - during last month's World Cup.
Encouragingly the increase comes at a timewhen some other forms of advertising, including radio and TV declined.
The Cinema Advertising Association believesthe buoyant half year is the result of a series of high-profile blockbusters, which started with Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And TheWardrobe in January.
"Cinema revenues have been fantastic inQ2 with lots of new advertisers taking advantage of the older, more upmarketaudience offered by TheDa Vinci Code and the shared family viewing offered by Ice Age 2,"said Clare Turner, CAA director and sales director at Pearl & Dean.
