Cinema Management Group has used its new acquisitions and marketing fund to pick up international sales rights ahead of EFM to two much fancied Sundance titles.

Ed Noeltner’s LA-based sales company has bolstered its Berlin slate with Josh Fox’s documentary and special jury prize winner Gasland, as well as Nick Tomnay’s psychological thriller The Perfect Host.

Gasland explores the consequences of a new natural gas drilling technique pioneered by Halliburton that is polluting water supplies across the world.

Trish Adlesic, Fox and Milly Gandour produced and Debra Winger served as executive producer.

The Perfect Host stars David Hyde Pierce, Clayne Crawford and Helen Reddy and is a cat-and-mouse tale about a bank robber who tricks his way into the home of a dinner party host.

Krishna Jones wrote the screenplay and Saw franchise executive producer Stacey Testro and Mark Victor produced, with Martin Zoland serving as executive producer.

“Thanks to CMG’s new partners, the Cleveland Family Trust, and the hands-on involvement in Sundance of Jason and Brian Cleveland, who were very passionate about both titles, we were able to find the right balance between the acquisitions price and the guaranteed marketing spend CMG will be putting behind the films going forward,” Noeltner said.

“Both Gasland and The Perfect Host have strong international appeal and we are excited to be introducing them internationally in Berlin next week.”

Noeltner will be joined in Berlin by international sales executive Bobby Meyers, who has acted as a consultant to CMG since Cannes last year.

The EFM slate includes The Collector, Good Hair, Heaven And Earth, and The Wedding Job.
