Edward Noeltner’s Cinema Management Group (CMG) will commence international sales at AFM next week on the Chris Rock documentary Good Hair and horror title The Collector.
Good Hair stars the US comedian Rock as he explores the cultural impact and history behind the $9bn African-American hair industry.
Jeff Stilson directed the film and includes interviews with Ice-T, Nia Long, Raven Symone, Maya Angelou, Eve and the Reverend Al Sharpton
Rock and Kevin O’Donnell produced the HBO Films presentation, which has grossed close to $3m in its first three weeks in North American theatres through Liddell Entertainment and Roadside Attractions. Rock served as executive producer and Jenny Hunter and Kevin O’Donnell produced with Stilson.
The Collector is directed by Marcus Dunstan, who co-wrote with his Saw IV,V and VI writing partner Patrick Melton.
Another Liddell Entertainment presentation, The Collector grossed more than $7.7m in North American theatres following a July 31 launch through Freestyle Releasing.
