Edward Noeltner’s Beverly Hills-based international sales company Cinema Management Group is bringing two 3D animated films to the AFM: Zambezia and Khumba.
Both titles are being animated and produced by Capetown-based Triggerfish Studios. Zambezia is set for release in June 2011 and follows a young falcon who must fight to defend his territory and rescue his kidnapped father.
Wayne Thronley directed and Stuart Forrest, Mike Buckland and Anthony Silverston are producing. Greg and Claire Becker, Noeltner, Peter Graham and Steven Hayes serve as executive producers.
Khumba is set for release in June 2012 and is being directed by Anthony Silverston and produced by Forrest. The film is currently in production and tells of a half-striped zebra who gets cast into the wilderness after he is blamed for a drought.
“The rich music and colours of Africa have come alive on both of these movies made for the whole family,” Noeltner said. “The talented people at Triggerfish are doing a great job bringing Zambezia and Khumba to life.
“I’ll be bringing clips that I can show in our office in 3-D at AFM of Zambezia. The early work I’ve seen so far on Khumba has just been amazing.”
