French sales companies Coach 14 and Orly Films are teaming upto handle three films from producer Jean-Louis Livi going into the Cannes Market.
The association is a one-off but is designed to bring together the two outfits' know-how and to provide buyers with a double interlocutor on these particular projects which Orly's Alain Vannier refers to as 'ambitious French prestige films.'
The indefatigable AlainResnais is currently shooting the ensemble dramatic comedy, Les Herbes Folles with Mathieu Amalric, Andre Dussollier, Sabine Azema and Emmannuelle Devos. The $18.8m (Euros 12m) film is set to be released by StudioCanal in France.
From director Francis Huster comes Un Homme Et Son Chien, an update of Vittorio De Sica's lauded 1950s melodrama Umberto D.
The film stars Jean-Paul Belmondo and Secret Of The Grain revelation Hafsia Herzi along with Jean Dujardin. The film has a $13.3m(Euros 8.5m) budget and will be ready at the end of the year.
Finally, Orly and Coach will jointly proffer the first directorial collaboration by Claude Miller and his son Nathan. Je Suis Heureux Que Ma Mere Soit Vivante is based on a true story and is currently shooting.
The film looks at the double life of an adopted child who finds his biological mother after a long search.
