The Focus Features and Working Title Films production is shooting on location in Minnesota.
The Coen brothers are writing, directing and producing. Executive producers are Working Title co-chairs Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner with long-time Coens collaborator Robert Graf.
Roger Deakins will serve as DoP, Mary Zophres as costume designer and Jess Gonchor as production designer; all have worked with the Coens before.
Set in 1967, A Serious Man is the story of physics professor with trouble with his wife, children, brother and an anonymous person trying to sabotage his career.
The cast features Michael Stuhlbarg, Fred Melamed, Richard Kind and Aaron Wolf, Sari Wagner, and Jessica McManus.
