Rowan Conn has been appointed to the newly combined role of chief financial officer for Universal Pictures International Entertainment (UPIE) and Universal Pictures International (UPI).

He will oversee the financial departments of both the home entertainment and theatrical film businesses outside the US. The position is effective from 1st January 2009.

The new role was created as a result of the impending departure of Pancho Perez as CFO of UPIE.

Based in London, Rowan Conn will report to Eddie Cunningham (President of UPIE), as well as to David Kosse (President of UPI), to whom he currently reports.

Conn was previously CFO of Universal Pictures International, overseeing the theatrical group's financial department.

Conn first joined UPI as vice president of finance in 2004. Prior to joining Universal, he worked in finance with companies such as Sony and NewsCorp.
