Constanza Arena becomes executive director of Cinema Chile

Constanza Arena has been named as the new executive director of Chilean film promotion agency Cinema Chile.

Arena is a Santiago-based TV producer who has worked in international programming and acquisitions.

“I am very happy to build on what Cinema Chile has achieved with the guidance of Bruno Bettati and Sergio Gandara”, says Costanza Arena. “It really was a team effort for a small country like Chile to bundle the industry and coordinate how to spread the message about our talent, facilities and locations.”

Bettati and Gandara will continue to work with Cinema Chile as consultants.

The organisation will celebrate its third anniversary in Berlin this week, with two Chilean projects in the festival — Young & Wild [pictured] in Generation and La Santa in the shorts competition.
