Content Republic and global web video service Joost have formed a partnership that will see Content Republic’s upcoming releases made available to Joost audiences across the UK and Germany.
The initial slate includes Lars von Trier’s 2006 comedy The Boss Of It All, Andrew Bujalski’s award winning US indie comedies Funny Ha Ha and Mutual Appreciation, as well as basketball documentary Adam Yauch’s Gunning For That # 1 Spot.
The deal, negotiated by Michel Peters on behalf of Content Republic and Sonya Joo for Joost, will see Content Republic provide Joost with a steady supply of commercial, mainstream titles for their online platform.
Michel Peters, co-founder of Content Republic, said: “Joost was one of the first to venture out into the IPTV arena and have built a considerable audience in the process. That makes them ideally placed to capitalise on the growing online consumption of film. Joost is a natural partner for Content Republic.”
