Four films have been nominated for the European Discovery award at the forthcoming European Film Awards.

They are: Eran Kolirin's The Band's Visit from Israel, Anton Corbijn's Control from the UK, Jan Bonny's Counterparts (Gegenuber) from Germany and Ozer Kiziltan's Takva (A Man's Fear Of God) from Turkey/Germany.

A total of 63 first feature films were submitted and the nominating committee was comprised of FIPRESCI members Jacob Neiiendam, Marco Lombardi and Dana Linssen and European Film Academy board members Pierre-Henri Deleau and Stefan Laudyn.

All 1,800 members of the Academy will vote for the winner, which will be announced at the EFAs on Dec 1 in Berlin.
