In its first festival appearance Linda KrogsoeHolmberg's Danish feature debut Count To 100 this weekend was selected as the bestyouth-children's film at the 21st BUFF, Malmoe's international filmfestival for children and young people.
The newcomer took the award in tough Nordic andinternational competition with Petter Naess' Just Bea and Teresa Fabik's The KetchupEffect as well as Pierre Muyl's TheButterfly, Sonke Wortman's an TheMiracle of Bern, Luis Filipe Rocha's NightPassage, Siddiq Barmak's Osama and Ineke Houtman's Polleke.
Count To 100, whichfollows a teenage boy and his mother who are on the run from his violentfather, was released in Denmark on Feb 2 but has only reached a disappointing20,000 admissions. It is produced by Nimbus Film and sold internationally byTrust Film Sales.
