Film-making initiative pairs international and European filmmakers
CPH:DOX, Scandinavia’s largest documentary film festival, has announced the 2011 line-up for DOX:LAB, the global cross-cultural development and training programme for factual filmmakers.
Ten directors from Asia, South America and the Middle East are paired with 10 European filmmakers over one year to make 10 films. This year’s intake of film projects will be showcased in 2012 at CPH:DOX in Copenhagen. The DOX:LAB programme, now in its third year has received support from Media Mundus, the MEDIA programme that links European film and TV professionals with their counterparts around the world.
The initial selection of DOX:LAB participants for the 2011 programme are: Iván Fund (Argentina); Edwin (Indonesia); Kazuhiro Soda (Japan); Flora Lau (Hong Kong); Alejo Moguillansky (Argentina); Andreas Koefoed (Denmark); Peter Kerekes (Slovakia); Jakob Schulsinger (Denmark); and Gustavo Beck (Brazil).
The two tutors and film experts who will be guiding the DOX:LAB projects over the next year are Violeta Bava, director of Buenos Aires Lab, and Lucie Kalmar, film producer and co-founder of VOD platform Festival Scope.
