Recently having completed shooting in Paris, CS Leigh's Process is currently being prepped for a possible Cannes slot. The film is a somewhat existential look at a woman's trajectory towards suicide. Starring Guillaume Depardieu and Beatrice Dalle, Process is an almost entirely silent film.
Mark Westaway and Humbert Balsan are producing the Franco-British collaboration for Copperfield Communications and Paris Classics.
Process is Leigh's third film - previous credits include Far From China and Nude Descending. With music by rock legend John Cale, the film is a work primarily expressed through glances, music, long travelling shots and creative lighting.
Other cast and crew include cinematographer Yorgos Arvanitis who worked on Theo Angelopoulos' Cannes winner Eternity And A Day and Catherine Breillat's Romance and actor/director Leos Carax who plays a doctor in the film.
