Chinese Distributor Dadi and Myung Films are partnering to release the Korean production house’s first feature animation Leafie: A Hen Into The Wild.
Dadi and Myung films have signed a cooperation agreement to release Leafie in China, with a projected release of about 1,000 screens. This will be day-and date in the summer with the Korean release, which Myung plans to have open on 300 screens. Dadi is also handling post-production and voice dubbing on the film.
Based in Hong Kong with a branch in Beijing, Dadi Entertainment Ltd. is a production and distribution company that also owns almost 500 screens in China, with plans to increase to 1,000 by the end of the year.
Currently in post, Leafie won the 2009 Korean Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) Global Animation Project Award with $560,000 along with support from KOCCA for international promotion. Oh Sung Yoon is directing the film, a coproduction between Myung and the animation producer Odolotogi Studio.
