The Dallas Film Society will honour Robert Duvall at its inaugural autumn fundraising event The Art Of Film in November with the Dallas Star Award.
Duvall, in contention for his acclaimed performance as a mysterious hermit in Get Low (pictured), will collect the honour on November 19 and will take part in an on-stage interview.
The Society will screen a retrospective the following day of three of Duvall’s most famous films.
“With an illustrious career spanning 50 years, Robert Duvall is one of Hollywood’s elite and we are thrilled that we will have the opportunity to honour him at The Art of Film,” Tanya Foster, president and CEO of the Dallas Film Society, said.
Duvall’s credits include To Kill A Mockingbird, Tomorrow, Godfather I and II, Network, Apocalypse Now, The Great Santini, Lonesome Dove, The Apostle and his Academy Award-winning role in Tender Mercies.
