ChrisBlackwell's Palm Pictures has acquired rights in the US and the Caribbeanto Christoffer Boe's Reconstruction, the Danish drama which won both the Camera d'Or andLabel Regards Jeunes at the Cannes Film Festival this year.

The deal was concluded between Palm's David Koh (head of acquisitions andproduction) and Ryan Werner (head of theatrical distribution) with Nordisk FilmInternational Sales executive Sanne Arlo.

Nordisk has alsoclosed deals on Reconstruction with Swift Productions in France, Lady Films in Italy, Ama Filmsin Greece and Cyprus, Xenix Filmdistribution in Switzerland, Cinemart in CzechRepublic and Providence Filmes in Brazil.

The film, whichPalm plans to release theatrically in spring 2004, takes place over a 24 hourtime period. It follows a young man who, after a passionate one night stand,returns home to find that all his friends and family claim never to have seenhim before. It stars Nikolaj Lie Kaas (The Idiots, Open Hearts) and MarieBonnevie (I Am Dina).

"Reconstruction is a film one can only be too proud torepresent," said Arlo in a statement. "The film has been extremelywell received by our clients all over the world and I am very pleased to beworking with Palm Pictures on this film. I am convinced they will do a very goodjob with the release. Reconstruction couldn't have found a better home in the States."
