Zurich Film Festival’s Golden Icon Award for 2010 will be given to Michael Douglas.
Douglas had agreed to collect the award in Zurich before his recent diagnosis with cancer; now his friend and colleague Danny DeVito will accept it on his behalf.
The award honours Douglas’ life work, including producing One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and acting in Wall Street, Fatal Attraction, Basic Instinct, and Traffic. He also stars in this year’s Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.
Douglas is also a UN Peace Ambassador.
Previous recipients of the Golden Icon in Zurich are Sylvester Stallone and Morgan Freeman.
