The 16th annual Emerging Cinematographer Awards evening in Los Angeles on Sunday (Sept 30) awarded prizes to several young talents.
Daron Keet received a four-week camera package from Panavision for his work on Ripple Effect while Arri Pete Villani earned a two-week Alexa camera rental camera package for Carjack.
Camera operators Michael Pescasio and James Takata were among the other honourees alongside first assistant director Stewart Whelan and operators Robert C Webb, John Barr, and Brian O’Carroll, second assistant cameraman Michael Alden Lloyd and first assistant cameraman Basil Smith earned honourable mentions.
Attendees at the event at the Directors Guild Of America Theater watched ten short films shot by members of the International Cinematographers Guild who each received a C300 camera from Canon USA.
