Loyola Marymount University's School Of Film And Television (SFTV) will honour Deepa Mehta with the 2008 Infinite Power Of Story Lifetime Achievement Award.
Mehta will receive the award during the univesity's Film Outside The Frame Festival on October 13 at the DGA in Los Angeles..
She will also be the first recipient of the Cosgrove Distinguished Visiting Artist appointment at SFTV. Her credits include Water, Sam & Me and Camilla.
The Film Outside The Frame Festival will reward the best work by SFTV students over the past year in the categories of narrative film, documentary, director, screenplay, animation and sound design. The Bernard Abbene Comedy Writing Award, the Dreier Family Editing Award, the Silver Lion and the Golden Cub awards and the inaugural Panavision Cinematography Award will also be presented.
