The eleventh edition of the Tongues On Fire Film Festival opens with Deepa Mehta's Heaven On Earth starring Preity Zinta at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) on March 6 2009.

Heaven On Earth deals with the issues of immigration, isolation and domestic violation. The screening is followed by a Q&A session with Mehta.

The festival celebrates South Asian film and places particular emphasis on the contribution of women film makers. The event will offer screenings, workshops and exhibitions.

'We are very excited about this year's festival', said Dr. Pushpinder Chowdhry, co-founder and festival director. 'We have received tremendous interest in our gala weekend as well as the festival overall with its diverse range of films and powerful directors.'

The festival runs until March 15 2009.
