As expected Constantin Film's release of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol.1 slaughtered last week's chart-topping children's film Brats, cutting it down 73.1%.
Bill's 37 prints scooped 25,635 admissions, where as Brats' 104 prints took just 19,472, which was still enough for a second place in front of the Coen-brothers' Intolerable Cruelty, despite that film's higher screen average.
Both American films received generally favourable reviews, and no other distributors dared to open films in the same week. Though last week's school holidays stopped helping most family films on the chart, Spirited Away managed to continue its climb up the chart, while the two Danish films Stealing Rembrandt and Two Moves One Pass swapped places and stayed in the top ten.
