Dimension Films has pickedup all North American, Australian and New Zealand rights from Darclight Filmsto the horror-thriller Storm Warning.
Jamie Blanks directed from ascreenplay by Everett De Roche. Darclight general manager Gary Hamilton andPeter Ford produced and Martin Fabinyi, Michael Gudinski, Greg Sitch and MarkPennell served as executive producers.
Nadia Feres, Robert Taylor,John Brumpton, David Lyons, and Mathew Wilkinson star in the Australian-shot taleabout a couple that gets stranded in a storm and has to escape derangedcaptors.
The Weinstein Company'sexecutive vice president of acquisitions and co-productions Michelle Krumm andexecutive vice president of business and legal affairs Andrew Kramer negotiatedthe deal with Hamilton and Darclight's president of international salesJonathan Deckter.
"Storm Warning is one of the most ambitious low-budget projectsever attempted in Melbourne," Blanks said. "The sheer level ofspecial effects, both prosthetic and digital, in this picture is staggering anddwarfs anything I had previously attempted in the US with my previousmovies." Blanks previously directed Urban Legend and Valentine.
