Berlin-based license trader Eastern European Acquisition Pool (EEAP) has signed an exclusive distribution deal with Bulgaria’s leading theatrical distributor and exhibitor Alexandra Groupholding.
The first release as part of the EEAP deal was Robert Rodriguez’s Machete which opened day-and-date with the US a week ago on September 3 and achieved the best opening weekend performance for a EEAP release in Bulgaria.
Forthcoming titles of what, according to EEAP managing director Alexander van Dülmen, is expected to be “a fruitful, long-term partnership” include the final chapter of the Saw horror franchise, Saw 3D: The Traps Come Alive, and Jim Sheridan’s Dream House, starring Daniel Craig.
