Parkpoom Wongpoom’s 2007 film was a hit across Asia.
Thai producer-distributor GMM Tai Hub (GTH) has sold Hindi-language remake rights to its horror film Alone (pictured) to India’s Global One Studio.
The 2007 film, directed by Parkpoom Wongpoom and Banjong Pisanthanakun, was a hit across Asia and acquired one month after its release by US-based 24 Frames for English-language remake.
Global One, headed by K. Ramesh, has also acquired all of GTH’s recent horror titles for distribution in India, including portmanteau horror 4BIA, Phobia 2, Coming Soon and Body. GTH also sold 4BIA and Phobia 2 to Korea’s Double & Joy Pictures, headed by Edward Lee.
In addition, GTH closed a deal for Mandarin-language remake rights to its 2009 romantic comedy BTS: Bangkok Traffic Love Story to Hong Kong-based One Dollar. Directed by Adisorn Tresirikasem (My Girl), the film was the highest-grossing local film at the Thai box office in 2009.
