Image has acquired North American home entertainment and digital rights to I Ain’t Scared Of You: A Tribute To Bernie Mac chronicling the life and career of the comedian and featuring previously unseen performance footage.
Robert Small directed the film and served as executive producer alongside Rhonda McCullough. Image will release through its One Village Entertainment label targeting African-American and urban audiences.
Mac’s daughter conducted revealing interviews with co-stars, colleagues and friends for the film.
“Bernie Mac was taken from us much too soon,” Image Entertainment’s chief acquisition officer Bill Bromiley said. “This film reminds us of his comic brilliance and viewers will be able to share in the enormous affection his friends, family and co-workers have for him by way of their candid, intimate interviews.”
