The Swiss distributor has also secured rights to Soderbergh’s Knockout and Nigel Cole’s Made in Dagenham.

Doug Liman’s political thriller Fair Game, his first film selected for Cannes’ Official Competition, is among eight top titles that have been acquired by leading Swiss independent distributor Ascot Elite Entertainment ahead of this year’s festival.

Ascot Elite also secured the Swiss rights for the following titles to supplement its 2010/2011 release lineup:

-  Neil Burger’s nerve-racking thriller The Dark Fields, based on the book by Alan Glynn and starring Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro, from Lionsgate.

- Steven Soderbergh’s action thriller Knockout with Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas, Antonio Banderas, Michael Fassbender, and Channing Tatum, also from Lionsgate.

- Nigel Cole’s comedy Made in Dagenham, with Sally Hawkins and Bob Hoskins, from Hanway.

- Michael Winterbottom’s The Promised Land, a Second World War drama set in Palestine with Colin Firth and Jim Sturges, from Fortissimo Films.

- Wes Craven’s Scream 4 from The Weinstein Company .

and

-Terrence Malick’s latest untitled project, a  romantic drama starring Christian Bale, Javier Bardem and Olga Kurylenko, from FilmNation. 

Ascot Elite’s release schedule for the coming months includes Twilight: Eclipse, Letters to Juliet, Piranha 3D and The Tree of Life. (ends)
