Leading producer/distributor Wanda Films has taken Spanish theatrical rights to Abbas Kiarostami’s Cannes competition title Certified Copy from MK2 and documentary The Field Of Enchantment from Wild Bunch.
Juliette Binoche picked up the best actress prize at Cannes for her portrayal in Certified Copy as a French gallery owner who meets a British author (William Schimmell) in a small Italian village. The film is Kiarostami’s first feature outside of Iran and has already been picked up by IFC for the US.
Microcosmos directors Claude Nuridsany and Marie Perennou unite again on The Field Of Enchantment, which is part nature documentary, part fictional love story about a young boy and girl who are brought together by creatures in a secret pond. Simon Delagnes, Lindsey Henocque and Jean-Claude Ayrinhac star in the film, which is produced by Thelma Films and Manchester Films.
