EXCLUSIVE: Spanish distributor picks up rights to comedy starring Diane Kruger and Dany Boon.
A Contracorriente Films has picked up Spanish rights to Pascal Chaumeil’s English-language comedy Fly Me to the Moon from Kinology.
Diane Kruger and Dany Boon star in the story of a woman desperate to end a family curse of unsuccessful marriages.
Quad Productions produces with Universal distributing in France and the UK.
Barcelona-based distirbutor A Contracorriente saw blistering success this year with Intouchables, which clocked up €15.4m in Spain, making it the tenth-biggest non-English language film ever in the market and the biggest film of the year to date.
The company is reteaming with Intouchables star Francois Cluzet on €17m yacht race drama Turning Tide, which it is distributing and co-producing with Gaumont, Jean Cottin and Laurent Taieb’s Les Films du Cap and Belgian outfit Scope Pictures.
A Contracorriente previously distributed Chaumeil’s 2010 hit Heartbreaker.
