Adopt Films has acquired all US rights to Yuval Adler’s debut Bethlehem, nominated last month for 12 Israeli Academy Awards (Ophir Awards).

The film premiered at Venice and Toronto and tells of a Palestinian informant who walks a fine line in complicated relationships with his militant older brother and his Israeli Secret Service handler.

Tsahi Halevi, Sahdi Marei, Haitham Omari, and Hisham Suliman star. Talia Kleinhendler and Osnat Handelsman-Keren produced for Tel Aviv-based Pie Films with Diana Elbaum, Sebastian Delloye of Entre Chien et Loup.

Adopt Films plans a late winter 2014 release. President Tim Grady and evp of marketing and distribution Jeff Lipsky negotiated the deal with WestEnd Film MD Maya Amsellem.
