Adopt Films has acquired US rights to Jean-Marc Vallée’s drama Café de Flore.
The deal was negotiated by Nicolas Brigaud-Robert, managing partner of Films Distribution and Adopt’s co-managing executives Tim Grady and Jeff Lipsky.
Cafe de Flor charts the unusual connection between a young mother with a Down syndrome son in 1960s Paris, and a recently-divorced, successful DJ in present day Montreal.
Co-starring Vanessa Paradis, Kevin Parent, Hélène Florent and Evelyne Brochu, the film has been nominated for 13 Genie Awards.
