The former head of domestic television distribution at Summit has joined the agency in the new role of global distribution strategist.
Fragen will help UTA clients navigate the new frontiers of the multi-platform distribution arena.
UTA said it had created the role “in response to the entertainment industry’s ongoing transition to a ‘content everywhere’ model and the needs of creators to exert more control over their projects through rights separation and direct distribution.”
Fragen will work alongside UTA’s existing practice areas to enhance strategies for clients across film, TV, digital and live event content.
“Alex brings a high level of expertise that our clients can access as we evaluate the best distribution path for the content they have created,” said UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer. “Alex’s long-standing relationships will be helpful as we build the most effective and efficient strategies for self-distribution of non-theatrical content.”

Fragen most recently ran entertainment and technology consultancy Question Media Group and prior to that was based at Summit.
