Asian VOD distributor in North America signs two deals.
Asian Media Rights (AMR), a transactional-video-on-demand distributor of Asian film and special event content in North America, has sealed two distribution deals - with Tidepoint Pictures and New People Entertainment.
Tidepoint Pictures is a boutique distributor specializing in distinctive Asian films, particularly Japanese. The partnership agreement includes titles such as Japanese auteur Sion Sono’s Noriko’s Dinner Table and Go Shibata’s Late Bloomer.
New People Entertainment (formerly VIZ Pictures) is a film division of New People Inc., and a distributor of Japanese films. The agreement with AMR includes most of New People Entertainment’s catalogue of Japanese features such as the trilogy of Death Note films, the 20th Century Boys films, and award-winning festival fare such as Linda Linda Linda, Funky Forest, Train Man, Kamikaze Girls and The Taste of Tea.
Asian Media Rights co-founder Michael Hong said: “We’re pleased to bring these unique, inspired films beyond the festival circuit and into American homes where they can be appreciated by a new audience.”
