Anchor Bay Films has picked up North American rights to the Far Hills Pictures documentary Corman’s World: Exploits Of A Hollywood Rebel.

A theatrical run is scheduled for late summer on the film, which launched at Sundance and receives its international premiere when it screens in the festival here on May 18. Corman and his wife, producer Julie Corman, are expected to attend.

Alex Stapleton’s film charts the rise of the mild-mannered engineer’s son to become an icon of independent filmmaking who created hundreds of exploitation films and is credited with launching the careers of Jack Nicholson, Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and James Cameron, among others.

Bill Clark and Kevin Kasha negotiated the deal for Anchor Bay Films with Mark Ankner of WME Global on behalf of Stone Douglass and Taylor Materne’s Far Hills Pictures. Irwin Rappaport represents Far Hills Pictures for sales legal.
