ARC Entertainment in collaboration with Barry Gordon’s XLrator Media has taken all US rights from ContentFilm International to the James Purefoy medieval thriller Ironclad.
The story of warriors who defend their country in a siege also stars Paul Giamatti, Kate Mara and a notable British ensemble that includes Brian Cox, Derek Jacobi, Jason Flemyng, Mackenzie Crook and Charles Dance.
ARC will release the film theatrically in June. Jonathan English directed from a script he co-wrote with Erick Kastel and Stephen McDool.
Mythic International Entertainment’s Rick Benattar, Andrew Curtis and English produced. Gordon and ARC’s Matthew Smith negotiated the deal with Content’s Jamie Carmichael, Rick Kwak and CAA.
“The partnership between ARC Entertainment and XLator, led by Barry Gordon, is the perfect team to distribute Ironclad,” Carmichael said. “The teams at ARC and XLrator bring a forward-thinking, hard-driving creative approach to all that they do and we are delighted to have them exploit this epic film.”
“We are thrilled that ContentFilm has chosen to work with us on this highly entertaining and well-directed film,” Gordon added.
