Midnight out of competition selection is directed by Mexico’s Everardo Gout.

Artificial Eye has taken on UK rights to Days of Grace (Dias de gracia), from Mexican director Everardo Gout, which was confirmed today for Cannes official selection, as a Midnight screening out of competition.

The film is set in Mexico City during 2001, 2006 and 2010, about three kidnappings taking place during three World Cup matches – from three different points of view.

The cast features Carlos Bardem and Tenoch Huerta (Sin Nombre).

Producers of the France-Mexico co-production are Leopoldo & Everardo Gout for Casa B Productions and Ozcar Ramirez and Michèle & Laurent Petin for ARP.

Kinology has also sold the film to Icon for Australia.

Also, Artificial Eye has two titles screening in competition at Cannes: Lars Von Trier’s Melancholia; and Lynne Ramsay’s We Need To Talk About Kevin.

Artificial Eye MD Louisa Dent said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be already on board with three films screening in this year’s Official Selection. We very much look forward to an exciting Cannes.”
