Submarine handling sales as well as US theatrical launch.
Submarine has closed a number of deals on Sundance-award winning documentary Being Elmo.
Constance Marks’ film has sold to Mongrel Media for Canada and Madman for Australia/New Zealand.
In the US, Submarine will handle theatrical while New Video has taken DVD/digital rights and ITVS and Independent Lens will handle TV.
The deals were negotiated by Josh Braun & David Koh of Submarine Entertainment on behalf of the Filmmaker and Producers along with Mark Kashden, VP of Acquisitions for New Video; Lois Vossen, VP of ITVS & Independent Lens; Hussain Amarshi, President & Caroline Habib, VP for Mongrel Media; and Paul Wiegard, Managing Director of Madman Entertainment.
Submarine will release the film theatrically later this year, also for an Oscar qualifying run.
The story is about Kevin Clash, the creator of the iconic Sesame Street character, and offers a behind-the-scenes look at Sesame Street and the Jim Henson Workshop.
