EXCLUSIVE: More than 20 territories sold for Xavier Dolan’s Tom At The Farm; MK2 also adds deals for Hotell, A Touch Of Sin, Gerontophilia.
MK2 has sown deals for more than 20 territories for Xavier Dolan’s Tom At The Farm. The film, which won the FIPRESCI award in Venice, has gone to France (MK2/Diaphana), UK (Network), Benelux (ABC Cinemien), Sweden (Folkets Bio), Poland (Spectator), Korea (Atnine Film), Taiwan (Filmware), Latin America (HBO), Ex-Yugoslavia (Continental) and Switzerland (Filmcoopi). eOne will release the film in Canada in 2014. It starts screening at TIFF on Tuesday and after a buyers’ screening MK2 has more offers on the table.
MK2 has also secured key territories for Lisa Langseth’s Hotell starring Alicia Vikander, with deals for France (Diaphana), Benelux (Wild Bunch), Switzerland (Filmcoopi), ex-Yugoslavia (Demiug) and Turkey (Calinos).
Jia Zhang-ke’s A Touch of Sin has now closed deals in France (Advitam), UK (Arrow), Germany (Rapid Eye), Benelux (Cineart), Switzerland (Filmcoopi), Italy (Officine Ubu), Spain (Golem), Portugal (Midas), Poland (Against Gravity), Norway (Europafilm), Sweden (Folkets Bio), ex-Yugoslavia (MCF), Turkey (Calinos), ex-USSR (Maywin), US (Kino Lorber), Canada (Films We Like), Brasil (Constellation), Australia & NZ (Curious) and Korea (Sycomad).
MK2’s TIFF slate also includes Bruce LaBruce’s Gerontophilia, which has sold to France (Epicentre).
The company is also starting pre-sales on three new titles. They are Olivier Assayas’ Sils Maria, now shooting in Germany and Switzerland starring Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart and Chloë Grace Moretz; Carlos Saura’s music documentary Argentina to shoot this winter; and Naomi Kawase’s drama Still The Water to shoot this autumn on the Japanese island of Amami-Oshima.
