Camelot Entertainment Group has officially launched Universal City-based Camelot Distribution Group (CDG) headed by Jamie R Thompson.
The company will announce its initial slate at AFM next month, which will include mercenary action thriller The Fallen starring Peter Stormare, a Camelot co-production that will go out in autumn 2010.
Rob Walker will direct from a screenplay by Erik Anderson with Grant Cramer and Anderson serving as producers.
Thompson will be responsible for all aspects of distribution including global sales and product acquisition and previously served as president of distribution for Burbank-based international sales company Quantum Releasing.
Jessica Kelly was recently appointed to serve as CDG director of marketing and public relations and previously held similar positions with Quantum Releasing, Bigfoot Entertainment and Sony Pictures.
“Over the last six months, we have expanded our distribution business to focus on the acquisition of a wide genre range of films where we can partner with complementary distribution entities both domestically and internationally that are best suited for all platforms on each release,” Camelot Chairman Robert Atwell said.
“Jamie brings extensive experience and knowledge of the distribution process to our team and will lead our efforts in the global distributions of our films. He and Jessica have worked together effectively in the past and we welcome them both to the Camelot family.”
